Monroe enjoying the shelter and warmth of the new kitty tunnel. This heated culvert is a very popular spot when it is cold!
Our sanctuary is now registered as a participant in the Home Grown National Park movement. Our kitties live in a wonderful, natural, native, thriving environment.
There is a perch of some kind at every turn in the sanctuary. Here Dan is joined by a couple of friends on one of the sun garden perches.
Pumpkin and Momma hanging out at the drip watering station on a nice spring day. Multiple watering features dot the sanctuary, plus the creek in the back woods.
Winter is almost over. Little Man is on top of the hay barn soaking up some sun.
Not many kitties waiting for breakfast this morning! But Tobi's Diner makes a great snow shelter.. That's Bubby in the middle.
Bolt is one of our kitties who doesn't mind the snow at all. In the photo, Bolt has just finished a long stroll up from the pond.
Boris likes to watch the snow fall from the shelter of his favorite little barn. This little barn was built by students in the Amherst County High School building construction program.
The watering hole is always open. These two kitties enjoy an ice cold drink, even though there are plenty of heated bowls around.
One of our younger kitties, Monroe, next to one of our most senior kitties, Baby. Rare to see Baby getting along with others - - cranky!
Reacher, one of our guardian dogs, slurps on Mitteens' head through the pasture fence. Both dogs are good with the kitties.
Some of our kitties love climbing up on the roof. Especially at dawn, like this kitty. A set of steps in back provides easy access..
A little rain from tropical storm Laura. But the kitties are staying dry! We make sure there are plenty of rain shelters for everyone.
We love it when the kitties all line up for dinner. As soon as the door opens they all run to Tobi's Diner to "their spots."
The cats are always interested in the deer when they come in for a visit. A couple of the cats will actually stalk and pretend to hunt.
Louie! Finally! Winning over a feral is so gratifying. Louie is a bobtail, one of several from a dangerous colony relocation.
A new constant drip water source being installed. The kitties are enjoying the construction zone and being first to drink.
These kitties have the perfect solution for a drizzly chilly day. Make a nice nest in the hay and cat nap. Purrfect.
Complete just in time for the first snow of the year. Fully insulated, heated, carpeted, sleeping beds inside, two entrances. Even windows (the kitties love windows!).
Piper is the first to use our newest cat house (still under construction in this photo). Thanks R.H., Steve, Tobi, and Glen for your support on this project!
Thor hanging out in the bamboo section of our grass garden. Kitties love the bamboo, making little nests in the gaps between canes.
We plant lots of wildflowers at the sanctuary. The kitties love to lay up under the flowers. Bees and butterflies provide lots of interest.
